Founded in Vienna in 2009, Lewitt is one of the youngest serious mic brands. Their LCT 440 Pure has become one of the most-recommended large-diaphragm condensers under $300, and their newer Pure Tube is a real entry to the tube-mic world at a sane price.
Lewitt’s engineers were ex-AKG. They started with a clean sheet, used modern injection-molding and capsule techniques, and designed for the home-studio market that didn’t want to spend $3,000 to start. The LCT line covers home studios; the MTP line covers live vocal; the Connect 2 USB hybrid is competing directly with the Shure MV7.
